You’re checking your Portfolio too much 👀
Stop watching your money grow (seriously)
Hi Reader,
Welcome to The Money Series and if you are new here, thank you for signing up. Personal finance can feel confusing and overwhelming, but this space is about learning, growing, and figuring it out together, one money decision at a time.
Remember this newsletter? Where I shared this:

I recently checked my portfolio* again (6 months later), and it’s still very green 😊

But this time, what stood out to me wasn’t just the gains. It was how little I had touched it.
In the initial newsletter, I emphasised: Start early. Stay consistent. Be patient. Today. I’ll add one more: Look away.
Investing should be boring, like watching paint dry. You can go in a few times to make changes, but usually, ‘out of sight, out of mind’ works well when investing. As long as you’re adequately diversified and intend to invest long-term, then you do not have to open your investing App frequently. Set it up, check in occasionally, and let time do the heavy lifting.
Each time you ‘interfere’, you risk acting on emotion and chasing trends, both of which interrupt the magic of compounding.
Reflect on This:
Are you building wealth or just watching it?
Till next week, I am rooting for you, money-ly!
Dee
